As I stood waiting to have my turn for the pictures, the butterfly in my stomach revealed itself and I found myself struggling to find words to say to the two girls. After waiting for five to ten minutes watching girls after girls taking pictures of the two ladies, I decided to take the matter in my own hand and jumped in the circle and asked the two ladies to have a picture of me. Politely and with a smile on my face, I sandwiched between Lily and Anna and got a picture of them. I told them that I love Lily's black dress and commented how they look more beautiful in person and they accepted by comments with a genuine smile on their face; Lily was smiling at me as if I was the most important person in the world and I just wanted to hug her and ask her if I could be her friend on Facebook or have her hang out with me if I were ever visiting London.
The best way to understand anything is to learn by doing, actually experiencing it, and getting our hand dirty. Meeting the two girls taught me the importance of being friendly and well-rounded and more importantly it showed how powerful the internet world is and how a click away can bring a group of strangers together. I can spend all day reading about the two make-up gurus and their influence on YouTube but actually standing there and seeing the effect of the internet world on the viewers was astounding and mind-blowing at the same time. The internet connects people from all over the world and brings them to a point in time and everyone is related one way or another, no matter what their gender, religion, and socioeconomic is. Sometimes, in life, we have to experience in order to understand something and when we get it, when we finally see the purpose of a particular interest and action, we are changed forever and we are never the same person again. We become more open-minded and even better, we become a better version of ourselves with the mindset that is open to anything the world gives us.
